Once we receive signed paperwork, we can start your onboarding process that same day or schedule a future time if that would be more convenient.

Onboarding is managed directly by the owners of Desert IT. This involves going to your offices and installing your backup solution along with our remote support and security software. Our main goal is to backup all your data, immediately resolve any IT issues, and begin cleaning up and securing your computer systems. We are very careful to not make any major changes until data backups are 100% complete.

You decide how you want us to proceed. We can work directly with your old IT provider so you don’t have to deal with it. In our entire career we have never met an IT professional who was not willing to help, even if they’re losing your business. We are all professionals and will work directly with your old IT provider unless you instruct us differently.

Our standard onboarding process, which is included at no extra cost for all service plans, will ensure there is no unauthorized access to your systems. We will lock out your old IT provider, change and document all passwords, remove old remote support software, review all open firewall ports, write up in detail how your network is setup, inventory all hardware and software, and provide you a full report for your records.

We will work with your current IT provider to obtain all passwords. If they are unwilling to help, we would contact each vendor (QuickBooks, GoDaddy, etc.) and begin the process of getting you access into your accounts.

Our learning curve is more about the personalities of your team and the routine of your office than the technical aspects of your network. We are staffed with locally trained professionals holding industry recognized certifications such as Microsoft MCSE, Cisco CCNA, and Apple experts.

As previously stated, before any changes are made, we perform full backups of your entire system. This approach ensures your systems can be fully recovered before any changes are made. We are experts in this area and can make sure risk is reduced in every decision made.
